At Unifeyed, our clients own their own websites. Generally, we set clients up with Editor level access to their websites for a few reasons. First, most clients only ever want to make general text edits to page content or maybe manage a blog on a monthly basis. For these sorts of tasks, one would only ever need Editor level user access.
An admin level user has the same level of access that we have as developers. We are happy to grant this level of access to a client with the understanding that, if a client should cause any part of the site to malfunction, any time spent by our staff fixing the issue will be billed on an hourly basis. We point this out because there are methods of editing a site granted to Admins that are not granted to Editors. Accordingly, an errant click can have unintended repercussions.
